Sara has a diverse background in leadership development, operations management, new businesses development and marketing. As an Army Officer, she managed an overseas maintenance facility for all vehicles and equipment for a 1200 person organization. She invented a unique tracking system reducing a severe work backlog from 220 jobs to 6 in fewer than 12 months. Later as a small business owner, she consulted owners on recruiting, marketing and inventory issues. Her part time business evolved in to a mid-six figure company in 5 years. Taking her leadership skills into the business world, Sara became a communications team leader for Capital One. She developed strategic communications and served as a liaison to nine regional sites in a 2500 person Information Technology department. Since joining Renaissance Resources in 2004, Sara has worked with clients on developing marketing strategies, performance management and leadership development programs. Her largest work to date is with the Emergency Medical Services personnel from across the state of Virginia. Below are several projects Sara has completed in the EMS industry: – Co-author Keeping the Best! retention toolkit, Workbook #1, #2, #3. Author of Workbook #4 for the Vrignia Deparment of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS). The retention toolkit achieved national recognition when Ms. Gaba and OEMS presented the workbook at the Rural and Frontier Symposium in Montana in the summer of 2006. In addition, the toolkit was featured in the EMS Insider magazine in 2006. – Co-developer/Project manager of the nationally recognized EMS Leadership Challenge self-development focused leadership program created for the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads (VAVRS). This program was also featured in the EMS Insider magazine in 2006. – Co-developer of the OEMS Strategic and Operational Plan for 2006-2010. – Project manager for the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad Recruitment and Retention Project. This successful program was highlighted at the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association (VFCA) Mid-Atlantic Expo in February 2007. – Project manager of the Northern Virginia Command Officer Leadership Development Program. – Chief instructor for a series of retention toolkit training requested by the Loudoun County Fire Advisory Council for volunteer fire and rescue personnel throughout the county. Education Sara received a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a concentration in Education and Leadership from the United States United States Military Academy at West Point. She is a certified Facilitator through Leadership Strategies, Inc. Boards and Affiliations Sara serves on the board of the West Point Society of Richmond and founded in 2004, BizNet, a networking resource and referral organizations for graduates in the Greater Richmond area of any of the four national service academies. Membership in this group now exceeds 80 business people. She is also a founding board member of Comfort Zone Camp, the only national bereavement camp for children in America. |
